MOS panel: magnesium oxysulfide sandwich panels

MOS expands to magnesium oxysulfide. This page is the abbreviated-form category page for MOS sandwich panels, and it states the naming rule plainly at the top: the sulfate name and the oxysulfide name are not merged into a single specification on this site. Each model page states the name that is listed for that model.

The MOS panels

The handmade MOS panel is the handmade magnesium sulfate panel, Type 50. The source material's brochure describes the maker as the only domestic manufacturer of pure magnesium sulfate panels, producing with 100 percent magnesium sulfate, and states that the panel does not absorb moisture. Those two statements are brochure self-descriptions, and they are stated here as such, not as independently tested conclusions.

The machine-made MOS panel is the machine-made magnesium oxysulfide tongue-and-groove panel, Type 50, 1150 type. Its listed width is 1,150 mm and its listed thickness range is 50 to 150 mm. The source site's MOS panel wording states a flatness error controlled within 0.1 mm by one-time cutting with imported electronic precision saws, a GB8624-1997 Class A fire rating, resistance to local temperatures above 1,000 degrees without heating the back surface, and a service life of not less than 20 years. That wording is quoted as source-site product wording, not as a test conclusion.

The two MOS panels share a magnesium-sulfate family name, but their listed widths, thicknesses, and joints differ by construction, and this page does not blend them into one specification. Compare them on the handmade-versus-machine-made guide.

Naming discipline

Support wordings for this page include magnesium oxysulfide panel, magnesium oxysulfide sandwich panel, magnesium oxysulfide wall panel, magnesium oxysulfide ceiling panel, and magnesium oxysulfide cleanroom panel, together with manufacturer wordings for those panels. They are vocabulary for this page. The naming guide explains why the sulfate wording, the oxysulfide wording, and the sulfomagnesium wording must not be treated as one specification.

No humidity figure is stated on this page. The humidity-selection confirmation page explains the model-by-model confirmation that replaces any figure.
